Mallozzi 5K Event

On Saturday May 10th over 300 participants gathered at the Coatesville High School stadium for the Mallozzi 5K. Several awards were presented after the run for the various runner age groups that participated. On Thursday May 8th the Coatesville High School hosted the 2014 Special Olympics. Hundreds of special needs students from the surrounding school districts came together to compete in numerous track and field events. Building Fire 99 Ninth Ave

On April 30th stations 41, 43 and ambulance 41-3 responded to 99 ninth ave for a automatic fire alarm at roughly 530am. Ladder 43 arrived on location and upon search of the building found light smoke conditions in the basement and upgraded the call to a building fire. House Fire 752 East Chestnut

EMS Chief Scott Thornton, April 22

Stations 41 & 43 were dispatched to 752 East Chestnut for a reported house fire. Ambulance 41-2 arrived on location reporting smoke showing from both 752 and 754 East Chestnut. Engine company arrived and stretched 1 3/4 handline to 752 and found the kitchen in the rear of the first floor on fire. The engine company then checked the second floor for any extension.
