- Washington Hose Co. No. 1 received a surprise visit from Armand Young who started his journey in 2007 walking on foot from California to his current location in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. His final destination is ground zero in New York City. - Monday evening while the Downingtown Fire Department was operating at a house struck by lightning, The Washington Hose Co. No.1 EMS division responded to a 2nd call in the Downingtown district. - On August 7Th, 2010 The Coatesville Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of valley road for an accident vehicle versus a house. Rescue 43, Engine 41-2, Ambulance 41-2 all made the response and were advised from the 911 center of a vehicle versus a house. Auto Accident With Entrapment In Valley Township

- On August 5Th, 2010 The Washington Hose Company Ambulance Division and Westwood Fire Police were dispatched to cover Westwood Fire Company Ambulance on an auto accident on Lincoln Highway and Old Lincoln Highway. Another Member Graduates EMT

- On August 4Th, 2010 EMS Supervisor Faust traveled to West Chester at the Government Services Building to watch as one of our members graduated from Emergency Medical Technician class. Doug Fanning spent 6 weeks in the accelerated EMT course which ran 4 days throughout the week and was 8 hours a day.
